23 notesThe Rein Snake (Rhadinophis frenatum) is a species of Asian Ratsnake. They can grow up to 150cm (nearly 5ft) but usually grow to around 90cm (3ft) long.
It is a diurnal and arboreal species of colubrid which is found in shrubs, low trees and bamboo forests. They will eat frogs, lizards, birds and mice. They have a very interesting way of crossing roads and open patches of forest, by mimicking a twig being blown in the wind. They move forwards a little bit at a time, freeze, and then sway from left to right before moving forwards again. Though if they disturbed they will flee as quickly as they can.
