Reptiglo
Hey there!
This blog is dedicated to the love of all things reptilian (and a few exceptions). It’s a place to expand your knowledge, ask questions, submit pictures and express your love as we are doing with this blog.

As you can see (if you scroll down) this blog is filled with pictures of amphibians (frogs, salamanders, toads, etc), reptiles (lizards, turtles, snakes, tortoises, etc) with a few mentions of crocodilians and arachnids (scorpions, tarantulas, etc).
We’re very sorry if you have a fear of snakes or tarantulas (as I’ve gotten a few msgs explaining these concerns) but if it drives a fear that much, this place may not be the one for you.
Hope you decide to become part of our community and leave a submission or ask! Enjoy!

Western brown snake
(Pseudonaja nuchalis)Also known as: gwardarFound: widespread over most of mainland Australia - absent only from the wetter fringes of eastern Australia and south-western Western Australia.

Said to be less aggressive than its eastern cousin, the western brown snake is still highly dangerous and part of the group of snakes that causes the most fatalities in Australia.
Western browns tend to be fast moving and nervous in temperament. When disturbed, they will run for cover, striking quickly if cornered, then making a quick getaway.
Though their venom is not as toxic as the eastern brown’s, they deliver three times as much. Bites are usually painless and difficult to see due to the small fang marks. Victims will experience headache, nausea, abdominal pain, severe coagulopathy (blood clotting disorder) and sometimes kidney damage.

herpetology-world:

Sebastian has recently discovered that the base of his water bowl makes for an excellently cool hide. He’s also discovered that because of the bowls shape and the water within it, i cant actually make him get him out of there.
Now, whenever i come near, he just shoots straight for his bowl and sits there grinning, because he knows there’s bugger all i can do about it.
